Choose how your concrete should look
Concrete does not have to be glossy to look finished. Start with the sheen you want, then decide how much natural stone should show through the surface.

Matte
Little to no reflection. A practical choice for patios and busy spaces where traction and easy upkeep matter.
Satin
A soft sheen that brightens the floor without making every scratch, footprint, or patch stand out.
Low gloss
More reflection and a more finished look. It also shows dust and wear sooner than matte or satin concrete.
Cream exposure
The cut stays near the top paste, so little stone shows. The result is quiet and relatively uniform.
Salt and pepper
A shallow cut reveals fine sand and small stone. The slab starts to show more character without looking like terrazzo.
Full aggregate
A deeper cut exposes larger stone. The slab and how it was poured determine how even this look can be.
What a densifier does
A densifier soaks into suitable concrete and hardens the surface from within. It is not a shiny coating, and whether it belongs in the process depends on the condition of the slab.

Problems we see with concrete floors

Dusting and chalky concrete

Peeling or cloudy coatings
A finish may lift when the slab was damp, poorly prepared, or carrying a weak surface layer underneath it.
Efflorescence and slab moisture
White mineral bloom points to moisture moving through the concrete. Covering it without addressing the source can trap the problem.
Oil, rust, and hard-water stains

Not necessarily. We inspect the surface strength, patches, moisture signs, and existing finish before explaining what can be improved and what should be repaired first.
Will it be slippery when it gets wet?
Traction depends on the finish and where the floor is used. Patios, pool decks, and wet work areas usually call for a more restrained finish than a dry interior room.
Will sealing it make the floor darker, or shiny?
Some finishes deepen the color or add sheen, while others leave concrete looking natural. We discuss that choice on the dry floor before anything is applied.
Will the finish yellow or fade in the sun?
Arizona sun can change finishes that are not made for UV exposure. The product and sheen must be chosen for the location, especially at garage doors and on exterior slabs.
