What is wrong with your marble?

Dull, hazy or worn sheen

Marble polishing

Counters, vanities, tub decks and tables that have lost their shine. We refine the stone itself with diamond abrasives until the sheen is even again.

Marble polishing

Dull rings and splash marks

Marble etch removal

Lighter, dull marks where lemon, wine or a cleaner touched the stone. An etch is missing polish, so it is polished out, not cleaned.

Marble etch removal

Want a softer, matte finish

Marble honing

Polished marble taken to an even honed matte that hides everyday etching better than a high polish. Done with diamond abrasives, not a coating.

Marble honing

Chalky walls and scale

Marble shower restoration

Chalky blotches, hard-water scale and dull walls in a marble shower. We remove the buildup without acid, then hone or polish the stone.

Marble countertop repair

Chipped edges, cracks, stains and etching on marble counters and vanities. We work out which problem you have before choosing the repair.

Dull traffic lanes, etch marks and scratches across a marble floor, honed and polished until the sheen is one value across the room.

Film, grime and spills soaking in

Marble cleaning and sealing

Residue that dulls the surface and spills that darken it. We clean with stone-safe chemistry, test absorption, and seal where it helps.

Stain, etch, or wear?

Compare the mark with the stone around it.

Darker: a stain

Something soaked in and darkened the stone; the surface still feels smooth. A poultice, an absorbent paste, draws it back out.

Lighter and dull: an etch

Acid from lemon, wine, vinegar or the wrong cleaner dissolved the polished surface, leaving it lighter or dull. Honing or polishing removes it; no cleaner can.

Even dulling and scratches: wear

Grit and traffic scratch the shine flat where people walk or work most. Polishing refines the surface back to an even sheen.

Sealer slows stains and never stops etching. For everyday care, see the Natural Stone Institute's care guidance.

How we restore marble

  1. Identify the stone and the finish

We confirm it is marble, not quartzite, and whether it is honed or polished.

  2. Test an area

A small test shows how the stone responds before the full job.

  3. Hone and polish wet

Diamond abrasives, worked wet, remove the damage and refine the surface in stages. Nothing is coated over.

  4. Clean, inspect, discuss care

We remove the slurry, inspect the finish with you, and talk through sealing and daily care.

Commercial marble

Marble in lobbies, hotel bathrooms and HOA common areas wears like marble at home, only faster. We plan the work around your hours so the space stays open, and tell you plainly what the stone needs. For the floors around it, see ourcommercial tile and grout cleaning.

Marble restoration questions

Will my marble look new again?

It will look like well-kept marble: the etch is gone and the sheen is even across the surface. Deep old stains and repaired chips can still show faintly, and we tell you which before we start.

How long does marble restoration take?

It depends on the area and how deep the damage goes. A vanity with a few etch marks is a smaller job than a full kitchen or a connected floor. We give you a time frame at the estimate.

Can etching come back?

Yes. Restoration removes the etching that is there, but lemon, wine, vinegar and acidic cleaners will etch marble again. A honed finish hides new etching better than a high polish, and we go over daily care at handoff.

Does sealing stop etching?

No. A penetrating sealer slows how fast liquids soak in, which helps against stains. Etching is acid reacting with the surface itself, and sealer does not stop that reaction. We test absorption and seal where it helps.

Do you replace or install marble?

No. We restore marble, we do not install it. If a tile or slab is beyond repair, we say so plainly, and you can bring in an installer for that piece. Often the stone you already have can be restored.

Is it marble or quartzite, and does it matter?

It matters. True quartzite does not etch; marble and dolomite do, and some slabs sold as quartzite are one of those. The two need different abrasives and care, so identifying the stone is the first thing we do.
