Marble Polishing in San Tan Valley and the East Valley

Dull, hazy or etched marble polished back to an even sheen: kitchen islands, vanities, tub decks, shower walls, tabletops and floors. We refine the stone itself with diamond abrasives, worked wet; nothing is coated over. Free in-home estimate.

Estimates are free and in person, because the right answer depends on the stone.

What polishing fixes, and what it does not

Polishing works at the surface, not on what soaked in or broke off.

Polishing fixes

Damage at the surface

  • Dulling and haze from wiping, cleaners and daily use.
  • Light etching: dull rings and splash marks from lemon, wine or the wrong cleaner.
  • Fine scratches from grit under pots and decor.

Result: the etch is gone and the sheen is even.

Polishing does not fix

What is in or under the surface

  • Stains. A darker mark soaked in; a poultice draws it out. Seemarble cleaning and sealing.
  • Chips. Missing stone is filled first: see marble countertop repair.
  • Stun marks. Opaque white spots where an impact bruised the crystals inside the stone. They sit below the surface, so polishing cannot reach them.

We tell you which marks will stay before we start.

Surfaces we polish

Most marble in a home can be polished where it sits.

  • Kitchen islands and countersThe shine goes first around the sink and prep areas.
  • Vanities and tub decksToiletries, cleaners and hard water dull them.
  • Shower wallsScale comes off first, without acid, then the stone is refined.
  • Tabletops and furnitureDining tables and marble-topped dressers, worked in place.

Floors are a different job, with a whole room to keep even: see marble floor polishing. For anything else, start with all marble restoration services.

A few rings, or the whole top?

A few glass rings or one splash mark is spot work: see marble etch removal. When etching has dulled the whole surface, polishing the full top gives one even finish that spot repairs cannot.

  • Light etchDull but smooth. Polishing alone usually takes it out.
  • Moderate etchSlightly rough to the touch. Honed with diamond abrasives, then polished.
  • Deep etchRough and visibly eaten in. More honing, carried well past the mark so the surface stays flat.

Polished or honed?

A polished finish reflects light like glass and shows each new etch; a honed finish is an even matte that hides everyday etching better, though it still etches.

If you would rather have the matte look, ask about marble honing, and compare the two in our guide to honed vs. polished marble.

Polishing is blended, not spotted

Light polish or hone and repolish, the work runs past each mark so the sheen changes gradually, not in a bright or dull patch. On veined marble, that blend keeps the repair from drawing the eye.

What to expect when we work on your marble

  1. Identify the stone and finish

We confirm it is marble, not quartzite or quartz, and whether it is polished or honed.

  2. Protect and test

Cabinets, walls and floors are covered. A test area shows how the stone responds before the full job.

  3. Hone where needed, then polish

Diamond abrasives, worked wet, take out etching and scratches; finer stages and a polishing compound bring up the sheen.

  4. Clean, inspect, talk care

We remove the slurry, check the finish with you in side light, and go over sealing and daily care.

Get an estimate for your marble

Your estimate depends on how much marble there is, how deep the etching and scratches go, whether chips or stains need work first, and whether you want a polished or honed finish. We look at the stone in person and set out the scope before any work starts.

Send a photo of the whole surface and a close-up of the mark, with your city and any products already used. Photos help us plan the visit; we test the stone before confirming the work.

Based in San Tan Valley, we serve Queen Creek, Gilbert, Mesa and Chandler, along with the rest of the East Valley.

Questions before booking

Will my marble look new after polishing?

It will look like well-kept marble: the etch is gone and the sheen is even across the surface. Stains, stun marks and repaired chips can still show faintly, and we point those out before we start.

How long does marble polishing take?

It depends on the area and how deep the damage goes. A vanity with light etching is a shorter job than a full kitchen or a deeply etched island. We give you a time frame at the estimate.

Can etching come back after polishing?

Yes. Polishing removes the etching that is there, but lemon, wine, vinegar and acidic cleaners will etch marble again, and sealer does not stop that. Coasters, trays and a pH-neutral cleaner keep new marks to a minimum.

How much does marble polishing cost?

It depends on the area, how deep the damage goes and the finish you want, so we come out and look at the stone before giving a number. The estimate is free and in person.

Can I polish it myself with a powder from the internet?

Sometimes, on a light etch in polished marble. Deeper etches need honing first, and powders can leave shiny spots on honed stone. Test in a hidden spot first: a botched spot usually makes the professional job bigger, not smaller.

Do you polish marble tables and furniture?

Yes, when the piece can be worked in place: dining and side tables, and marble tops on dressers or consoles. We cover the wood and the floor around it before we start.
